About

I am currently a Classroom Assistant with a Qualification of NCFE CACHE Level 3 Extended Diploma for Children’s Care Learning and Development that I achieved in St. Kevin’s College Lisnaskea and I have also achieved a Qualification of OCN NI Level 3 Award in Working with Children and Young People with Special Needs through the SouthWest College (online course). I done my placement in St.

Mary’s Primary School Newtownbutler in both Primary 1 and Primary 2. My main goal was to ensure young children were supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential, as I was also given the help and support during my education as I am Autistic. Over the two years I was able to learn and put into practice the skills shown to me during my course but also from my own experience of having been given support in both Primary and post Primary School, group support and one on one support too.

I also found the support in post primary was structured to my individual educational needs and participated in ‘The Hive’ and ‘Positivity Pod’, and I also availed of extra time during my examinations given me a personal insight into helping children in the early years of their education. Over the last year I have been employed as a General Classroom Assistant in Bunscoil Naíscoil An Traonaigh in Lisnaskea working with all class groups helping with Maths and English/Irish and also on a 1 to 1 basis when required, I also was helping to run the Breakfast Club that started at 8:15 every second week.

Experience

Work Placement - St. Mary’s Primary School - Newtownbutler

I was on work placement in St. Mary’s Primary School Newtownbutler as part of my course over 2 years, working with the teacher and classroom assistant in Primary 1 first year of my course and then in primary 2 on the second year. I mostly worked on placement 2 days a week (Thursday & Friday), but I have also worked a full 5 day week after Easter both years (10 weeks in total).

General Classroom Assistant - Education Authority - Bunscoil Naíscoil An Traonaigh, Lisnaskea

(2025-08 - 2026-06)

I was currently employed by the Education Authority as a General Classroom Assistant from August 2025 to June 2026 and based in Bunscoil Naíscoil An Traonaigh Lisnaskea, working 5 days a week with both group and individual children and working 1:1 when required by the principal.

Sickness Cover - Integrated Primary School - Enniskillen

I am now providing Sickness Cover working 1:1 with a child in primary 3 in the Integrated Primary School in Enniskillen.
