Complex process as not being able to see or examine the patient adds considerable risk to the process however due to the increased strain on the NHS from covid it is important to manage all cases as effectively as possible to make best use of the resources available. Treatment may involve prescribing medication or signposting to other services for further assessment (X-ray if needed) or there are occasions when it is appropriate to give patients advice which will allow them to manage their condition at home without any other intervention and provide suitable worsening advice should the problem escalate.

In association with the multidisciplinary team completed the Non-Medical Independent Prescribing course, the MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Practice and the Level 7 Clinical Examination Skills Post graduate Master's Module. Working closely with the out of hours team is part of daily role including a variety of different GP's from registrars to GP's who have retired from regular practice, District Nurses, Triage Nurses, Dentists, Call Handlers, Reception Staff and Drivers therefore effective communication is key.
Completed a piece of work that demonstrates that, amongst other savings, by switching just two drugs to the alternatives would have saved £12,000+ on the Drugs budget. Despite being more focused on a clinical role consistently exceeded targets set on both OTC sales and prescription items. Top priority is to provide the most effective, safe and quality service to the patients.
