Rachel Hobbs

I am a dedicated, detail-oriented worker with a passion for Psychology within Education and Healthcare. I have completed a Psychology BSc (Hons) including modules such as Cyberpsychology and Educational Psychology specifically looking into the development of young people.

As someone with a former diagnosis of Anxiety and Depression, I feel I have been given the opportunity to have personal insights into these conditions and would be able to provide dedicated support and guidance to anyone suffering with these conditions. I feel very passionate about being able to help people reach their fullest potential be that through education or appropriate healthcare and treatment.

I am currently just over one year into working at Musgrove Park Hospital as a healthcare worker, working with people of all ages, including people with learning disabilities and mental health problems. Every day presents a new challenge but I am ready to specialize into the subject of mental health where my true passion lies.

Working in a hospital has presented me with the opportunity to work on my communication skills as I am required to communicate with patients, relatives and healthcare professional alike, all with the patients best interests at heart, which can be a challenge when you have multiple different teams involved. It has really shown me the depth of my empathy for other people and how my inter-personal communication has evolved over my short tenure here.
