I’m a qualified paediatric nurse currently working as a paediatric theatre nurse in Birmingham. I’m really keen to build on my paediatric experience and develop my skills in other clinical areas alongside my current role.
I enjoy working in busy environments, supporting children and families, and being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. I feel bank shifts at Hull Royal would be a great opportunity for me to broaden my experience while helping out where needed.
I am a dedicated Theatre Nurse with three years of experience at Birmingham Children's Hospital, working across anaesthetics, scrub, and recovery within a busy tertiary paediatric surgical environment. I provide high-quality, patient-centred perioperative care to infants, children, and young people undergoing elective and emergency procedures across a range of specialties. In anaesthetics, I support safe induction, airway management, and intraoperative monitoring, anticipating the needs of the anaesthetist while maintaining a calm and reassuring presence for both patients and families.
As a scrub practitioner, I uphold strict aseptic technique, demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of surgical instrumentation, and ensure full compliance with WHO Surgical Safety Checklist standards. In recovery, I deliver vigilant post-anaesthetic care, including airway support, pain management, continuous monitoring, and early recognition and escalation of complications. I work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to theatre efficiency, patient safety, and positive surgical outcomes, while consistently advocating for the needs and wellbeing of children and their families.
I have completed a degree in Paediatric Nursing, gaining comprehensive knowledge and clinical experience in caring for infants, children, and young people across a range of healthcare settings.
In addition, I have completed an Anaesthetics course, further developing my skills in perioperative care, airway management, patient monitoring, and supporting patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This has strengthened my ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in theatre and high-dependency environments.
