Having worked among different types of costume departments and productions, both for stage and screen, I gained a wide experience about designing show, movies, music videos and styling for fashion shootings. Studying fashion and costume in Rome and London gave me a good knowledge of period fashion as well as fabrics and textures. I am a good researcher when it comes to find inspirations for new designs, a trained painter and sketchers which is a very useful skill for dealing with directors, producers and makers.
As I also work as Head of Wardrobe and Assistant, I well know what issues these roles usually face during prep, rehearsal times and this allows me to be more efficient and capable of combining a creative design with a sensible schedule in order to maintain a serene and efficient work environment.
As a costume designer, I consider myself a storyteller whose tools are clothing and accessories. The best design can really help performers portraying their characters and it helps the audience to engage with the show. Color palettes, textures and shapes can literally transform the appearance of any performer and I think this is part of the magic of working among theatre and TV/ movie productions.
Here in UK, I had the honour to work with some VIP such as Grayson Perry (when I won 2019 UAL Chancellor Robe Challenge) and Daniel Lismore (in occasion of his appearance during 2022 Platinum Jubilee BBC Party at the Palace) designing their outfits and dealing with makers during the whole prep. My main goal has always been to get the best result no matter the budget, using creative and unusual materials to obtain incredible outcomes. I also tend to build strong relationships with performers, as well as directors, as they often call me for some styling consultations or if they are producing their own projects.
Hardworking, highly organized, able to work alone and with a team, friendly, collaborative and patient even under pressure, a proper problem solver capable to find quick solutions.
