Asylum and Refugee Medicine Specialist Clinic at GP Practice (2022-04 – 2025-04)

Involved assessment, investigation and management of patients seeking Asylum. Most patients present with a myriad of mental health conditions ranging from anxiety, depression, PTSD, Psychotic symptoms and suicidal ideation through previous incarceration, torture, physical, sexual abuse, human slavery and have been separated from their families. Consultation involved detailed history of events with the use of language interpreter, physical and psychological assessment with either management of the conditions through referral to Community Mental Health Team, Wellbeing team, prescribing medications.

Medical Examiner (Medical Examiner System) at NHS Trust (2024-01-23 – 2025-08)

By way of statutory requirement as of 9th September 2024, all natural deaths that occur in hospital and the community requires independent proportionate scrutiny of their records by a senior trained clinician (Medical Examiner) to suggest a cause of death and to refer those cases that may appear natural but infact are unnatural by way of chain of causation need referral to the coroner.

GP Appraiser at Greater Manchester Appraisal Team (NHS England) (2012-12 – 2015)

This role involved formally appraising other GPs in the Greater Manchester area as part of their mandatory requirement for licensing and revalidation process by the GMC and to be maintained on NHS Performers list as per NHS England.

Clinical Director and Governance Lead at Out of Hours GP service Trust (2009 – 2013)

This role involved the development and implementation of risk assessment and management of the service, performance monitoring of GPs working in the OOH, developing local policies, medicines management review, conducting audits, performance feedback to GPs and responding to patient complaints including doctor patient resolution mediation meeting and outcomes. Liaising with the GMC and providing the GMC caseworker with quarterly performance of the GPs that were referred to the Fitness to Practice panel.
