Career summary

October 2022, I joined JRL GROUP working at the OCTAGON TOWER The Octagon is the world’s first purely octagonal high-rise residential building, creating an instantly recognisable addition to the skyline that will become as iconic as other modernist city landmarks such as the

Rotunda.

Rising to a height of 155 meters, the tower will be Birmingham’s tallest building, providing residents with unprecedented views of the cityscape and beyond.

Work Experience

Part of a team of 100 General site laborers working for on site at a large development site in Birmingham city center and reporting to the Site Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure regulation headwear, protective glasses and safety jacket are worn at all times
• Attend weekly team meetings to ensure projects are running to agreed schedule

• Assist in building and erecting scaffolding, ladders and temporary structures
• Demolition Work
• Handle demolition tools and dispose of waste to make the site safe and ready for the next stage
• Handling and transporting materials across the site including loading and unloading

• Maintain and repair equipment and tools including cleaning and storing safely
