My role at PIDG/InfraCo Africa is as a Senior Asset Manager. With over 15 years of financial leadership experience across the financial services and infrastructure development industry, I have consistently driven strategic growth, improved financial performance, and strengthened operational efficiency for complex organisations.
In my most recent role as Senior Asset Manager, I site on Boards of various companies which resulted in better governance and better shareholder/investor relations increase in EBITDA, successful fundraising, cost reductions. My approach combines disciplined financial oversight with a deep understanding of business strategy, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
Senior Asset Manager: September 2016 - now
A Board member of the operating portfolio companies (in Uganda, Zambia, Democratic Republic of
Providing the leadership needed to deliver on the company’s strategic and financial objectives and performance targets, with a focus on business operations, planning and people management.
Monitoring economic conditions and current investments, including regular interaction with investment partners (involving travel to project sites).
Present portfolio management and investment recommendations to the Board/Investment
Committees, including refinancing, exit strategies and portfolio valuation.
Led on a successful exit of a portfolio company, starting from negotiations, due diligence, legal and tax advice on exits and satisfaction of conditions precedent.
Interaction with finance/legal team on portfolio evaluation, risks, performance reporting and monitoring of portfolio budgets versus actuals.
Led on successful completion and implementation of projects ranging from energy to agri-
infrastructure.
Led on a successful mediation between shareholders on a project in Uganda to enable the project to continue operations undisrupted. Led the negotiations of the debt restructuring to enable a project to enable phase II of the project to deliver on its targets.
Led on successful completion on a few liquidations and administrations process in various jurisdictions.
Established a new subsidiary and office in Kenya, substantially increasing local internal capability for project delivery.
Finance Manager and Finance Director: August 2013 – September 2016
Provide the business the following services that include financial reporting, cash flow forecasting and day-to-day finance activities.
Led the management of developer service contracts with timely analysis of information to project staff.
Led the management the company’s annual audit, VAT and tax aspects of the business.
Led a VAT recovery from HMRC
Led the negotiations of the debt restructuring to enable a project to complete construction and commence operations.
Assist the Executive Director in managing the company’s operational portfolio of assets.
