I am a highly enthusiastic, hardworking and punctual person, who aspires to accomplish challenging tasks.
During my week long work experience commencing on 26th June 2023, I had an opportunity to work as a warehouse assistant in Kirby & West. Whilst employed, I had the chance to learn and enhance essential skills that have significantly contributed towards my development and helped me improve my abilities in teamwork, leadership and effective communication.
Working together and in partnership with my colleagues I was able to improve my teamworking skills to complete delivery orders on time. This experience taught me the importance of collaborating with associates to achieve remarkable results. Leadership became a natural progression as I found myself taking initiative in guiding and motivating my colleagues.
I understood the significance of a supportive and organised environment that collectively allows for better coordination and performance. I identified that an important aspect of leadership skills is listening to all and adapting to changes effectively. However, this led to one of the most transformative aspects of my work experience, which was the improvement of my communication skills.
With the help of my employers I was consistently able to refine and develop my ability to convey information efficiently. Within few days, I gained confidence in expressing my thoughts and ideas, fostering for open communication between colleagues.
Reflecting on my time at Kirby & West, I am proud of the holistic development I have gained. The invaluable experience achieved in teamwork, leadership and communication has not only enhanced my professional capabilities but also improved the way I am as a person and eager to apply these skills and insights to future challenges and continue my journey of personal and professional development with a motive to inherit the idea of never stop learning.
