In this role, I support people in the community who have complex care needs. This varies with each package and the needs vary but the role remains the same. I am responsible for keeping accurate and up to date records about the package.
I am responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the clients, providing them with personal care, supporting them with meals, this can be orally or via peg, administrating medication, this can be orally or via peg as well as helping them access the community and activities they enjoy. I did this role a couple of years ago too and loved it!
Support worker at Stonewood complex care (2025-12 – Present)

SEN Teaching assistant at Princes Primary (2023-07 – 2025-12)
In this role, I build relationships with children and their families while supporting children to access education. I help children regulate their emotions and teach them skills to help self-regulate. I advocate for the children and their needs.
I also support with personal care while ensuring the children have their dignity. I also report and record any safeguarding concerns or incidents on CPOMs and follow the policies in place. Due to this role, I have been fortunate enough to start taking 2 children out in the community on weekends and half terms, and this has gave me insight into family life and how different families' needs and structures are and made me more aware of the support they need and how many different areas for support there are.
Teaching Assistant at Connex Agency (2023-04 – 2023-07)
In this role I worked at different schools across Liverpool supporting children in mainstream and SEN schools to access education. This is similar to the role I am currently in. I would follow every school's policies on safeguarding and confidentiality as well as helping children regulate their emotions, provide personal care while maintaining dignity and building relationships with children and staff.
Residential Childcare Worker at Tressell Care Company (2022-09 – 2023-04)
My role was to deliver quality, child-centred care in a safe and nurturing environment for the children. I was a positive role model to the children. In this job I was a key worker for the child in the home and my role was to build a strong, positive, trusting relationship with her and keep her file updated with all the key information, all her achievements, medical appointments, notes from LAC reviews etc. and ensure everything was filed correctly as well as keeping up to date, accurate reports and records for her.
I would attend reviews and planning meetings with the children and the people involved in their care.
Teaching Assistant at The Grange Academy (2021-09 – 2022-08)
During this role I worked in a mainstream school supporting children in secondary school. My role was to build strong, positive relationships with the child to ensure all their needs were met. I would help them in class by adapting the work and supporting them in class.
I also did some work with interventions and was able to see how to plan and deliver interventions through observing. Once a week I would have PPA time as I was a key worker for a group of children and it was my role to work with parents, teachers and the children to ensure they had appropriate targets in their student support plans, where getting the right level of support and progressing in all aspects. I would also work closely with the safeguarding lead and report concerns on CPOMS.
I have a level 3 in health and social care and currently working on getting a degree in childhood and youth studies, this studying will be complete next year.
