Reuben Blaauw

I am an enthusiastic, friendly, hardworking and dedicated individual who strives to succeed in everything I do. I believe success can be achieved through continuous improvement, collaboration and forward thinking. I'm looking for employment that allows me the opportunity to add value in the work place whilst adding to my own experience and skill set.

My social environment spans many different generations and I am able to communicate well with people of all ages, and form bonds with a wide variety of people. I am an analytical thinker and like to understand a problem in its entirety before looking for solutions. I see myself as being task-orientated and highly organized, which ensures that I meet deadlines and thus my work is of the highest quality.

This can be seen through my academic results.

A six week internship, under the operations manager at In2Foods was completed. In2Foods provide snacks to Woolworths as well as Marks & Spencer (M&S). Industrial engineering techniques such as time studies, line balancing and flow analysis was applied to increase worker productivity and reduce the labour unit cost. Additionally, a capacity prediction calculator was developed to improve labour planning over higher and lower demand periods.

2018-2021: BE, Industrial Engineering, University of Stellenbosch. Final year average: 66%, with 70% for thesis study.

2013-2017: Paul Roos Gymnasium, Stellenbosch. Matric average: 83%, with 4 distinctions.
