During my placements at James Cook University Hospital and associated sites, I developed practical experience in delivering safe and effective imaging within A&E, inpatient, outpatient, and theatre environments. I applied core radiographic principles to support accurate diagnosis while adapting my practice to meet individual patient needs. I built a strong understanding of IR(ME)R regulations, consistently applying patient identification protocols, justification, optimisation, and dose awareness to ensure safe practice.
I adhered to radiation protection standards, infection control measures, and departmental policies, contributing to a high standard of care and clinical governance within busy imaging departments.

I have undergone care work training, including providing assistance for those with Alzheimer's disease. Using these skills I have provided both high quality care and companionship to clients that I have been assigned to. My work includes everything from assistance with household duties and personal hygiene to stoma and catheter care, medication prompting, administration of ear and eye drops, and, supporting independence and dignity.
This role has reinforced my understanding of infection control and safeguarding, while developing my communication skills, teamwork, and ability to work with initiative.
