I have been a fully qualified plumber/heating eng for over 45 years. During this time I have been involved in all aspects of the building industry ,having run building firms, been a site manager in a special needs school .
!0 years spent in France renovating old stone buildings and involvement in ,sewage filter beds, swimming pool construction ,rainwater harvesting etc.
Recent employment ,repair and maintainance of social housing for various housing associations.
Im passionate about old buildings and have lived in many during my adult life.
5 years apprenticeship Plumbing and Heating .
5 years City & Guild Plumbing ,Craft & Advanced Craft.
Self~employed as a general builder for many years in London and France.
Aga Rayburn~~employed as a service engineer from 1997 to 2000.
After returning from France,I was employed as the Facilities/Site Manager at Penn School in Bucks.,
responsible for all aspects of building maintenance ,security and health and safety of staff and pupils.
This was a charity~run school for children with learning disabilities and special needs.It was an extensive site with many historic buildings .The school was closed in 2015 due tio funding difficulties.
After then moving to Staffordshire,I joined the team of the Royal British Legion Handyvan Service,whose work involved the maintenance and care and repair of the homes owned in the area by ex~service personnel,including aids and adaptions for wounded and disabled military.The works included the building of ramps,decks,hand rails,grab rails,installation of wet rooms.I was made redundant when the Royal British Legion discontinued the service ,making myself and 64 other personnel redundant just before the covid lockdown in 2020.
Since that time I have been involved continuously in the maintenance and repair of social housing,firstly with The Housing Group in Stafford and latterly with MDGroup ,Bristol.
