I hold a First-Class BA (Hons) in Sociology with Criminology from the University of Chester, a Master of Science in Humanitarian Studies (Distinction) from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (Distinction). I have also applied for QTLS status this year to further formalise my professional teaching credentials.
Currently, I work as a Health and Social Care Lecturer at WMC, where I am responsible for planning and delivering lessons, designing assessments, and supporting students through their individual learning plans (SLPs). I strive to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student feels supported, respected, and valued.
My teaching philosophy is inspired by Paulo Freire’s idea of education as a dialogical and empowering process — one that encourages critical thinking, reflection, and social awareness. I also draw on Gert Biesta’s concept of education as a means of developing agency and subjectivity, promoting learning that helps students not only acquire knowledge and skills but also grow as autonomous, responsible individuals who can participate in a valuable way in society.
As a positive and proactive educator, I bring empathy, structure, and active listening to my teaching practice. I am deeply committed to supporting learners’ academic and personal growth, promoting confidence and motivation through clear communication, high expectations, and genuine care.
I am a newly qualified teacher with a strong academic foundation and diverse professional experience. These roles strengthened my organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, which now underpin my approach to teaching
