Robyn Gerrard

My name is Robyn Gerrard, and I am a dedicated and passionate swimming teacher with a robust combination of formal qualifications and hands-on experience. I hold a Swim England Level 2 Swim Teacher certification and the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches, ensuring I provide safe and effective instruction. In addition to this I actively seek CPD opportunities to further develop my skill set.

Currently, I teach at Stamford School Sports Centre and have previously worked at Vivacity Premier Fitness, where I gained extensive experience in delivering the Swim England Learn to Swim framework. My strong interpersonal and communication skills allow me to create a positive and engaging learning environment, making swimming enjoyable and accessible for all my students. Additionally, as an active member of the City of Peterborough Swim Club, I bring personal enthusiasm and a deep understanding of the sport.

My mature, enthusiastic, and friendly attitude, combined with a strong background in sports leadership, positions me as a reliable and inspiring swimming teacher.

Currently, I am employed at Stamford School Sports Centre, where I deliver the Swim England Learn to Swim framework, teaching essential aquatic skills to children and ensuring they are confident and safe in the water. Previously, I worked at Vivacity Premier Fitness, where I managed swim programs for various age groups, planned lessons, and maintained effective communication with parents and staff. My roles have required me to be flexible, work within team environments, and solve problems on the go.

Additionally, my administrative experience at Vivacity Leisure Jack Hunt Swimming Pool has given me valuable skills in customer service and managing swim school operations.

I have pursued a focused education in sports and leadership, which is highly relevant to my role as a swimming teacher. I hold a BTEC Level Sport Extended Certificate with a predicted grade of Distinction**, alongside a Higher Certificate and an SLQ Level 3 Qualification in Sports Leadership. These qualifications have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of sports education, effective communication, and leadership skills.

My education has provided me with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel in teaching swimming and managing aquatic programs, ensuring I can deliver high-quality and engaging lessons while promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
