Engineer Transitioning into Engineering Recruitment | Seeking Recruitment Consultant Role
Engineer with ten years spanning the Royal Navy Submarine Service, field service, and engineering inspection, with recent roles spent face-to-face with clients on their sites. Over the last three years, everything I have built has required me to sell: acquiring my own personal training clients, running paid acquisition campaigns achieving 27% CTR at £0.03 per conversion, and pitching website builds door-to-door on the high street, where I realised the part I enjoy most is the conversations, the relationships, and winning new business. Contacts regularly asked me to help them find engineers, which led me to launch Ironfield Recruitment.
Within two weeks, I had sourced five candidates and taken on my first client vacancy, screening, interviewing, and shortlisting three adjacent-trade candidates using transferable skills my engineering background allowed me to identify. The process reinforced that my engineering background gives me a different perspective when assessing technical candidates and confirmed that I want to build my long-term career in recruitment within an established team.
