Team Leader/Paper Making - Northwood Tissue
Employed as a team leader/paper making at Northwood tissue in the position for 18 months. During this time learnt all aspects about paper making from the effluent plant which treats effluent water from the paper mill using a multi-stage process that typically includes primary, secondary, and tertiary treatments. Primary treatment uses methods like screening, sedimentation and flotation to remove suspended solids.
Secondary treatment, often biological, breaks down organic matter using processes like activated sludge or aerated tanks the water is always checked and tested to ensure the treatment used for purification, removing residual pollutants as the water is sent back to stream. Really enjoyed the job and what the role entailed. Picked up the scada system extremely quick and was able to bring skills from previous job.
Championed 5s and lean and was trainer. Completed numerous management courses and lead by example and am the first person to get stuck into an issue and problem solving or cleaning with a hand brush or hose. Completed level 2 paper making course, IOSH and can drive all different types of mobile plant.

Joined Reynolds Catering, a family run business that delivers fresh produce and chilled products into the kitchens of some of the best-known names and brands in the country including Pizza Express, Zizzi, Ask, Bills, Cote, and many other famous brands. Was always ready to assistance the Transport Office team and always ready to help by doing extra drops relaying any information for the customers taking vehicles for services and stepping into the role as gained valuable experience and knowledge from previous job and also helping new starters in guiding them on the routes and going through S.O.Ps and risk assessments. Provided training to the other drivers and ensured they handle manual lifting tasks effectively and efficiently.

Whilst employed as a MSO, main duties were to work in picking stations and remove all contaminations and foreign objects from the commingled waste streams while remaining vigilant to ensure there are no blockages to the plant. Worked as part of a team or alone, dealing with any issues that arose throughout the day. Loaded curtain-sided wagons with the baled products produced, ensuring this is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
Gained valuable experience, which helped to progress into the role of a plant operative.

Whilst working on a multi-million-pound stadium, there was a lot of pressure to have the stadium finished. This was a high-profile job, which was printed in papers and broadcast on the news, so all had to work at high standards. As there were a lot of numbers working on the stadium, health and safety was a very serious issue, so had to ensure obeyed all rules and codes of conduct.
Duties were to set out blocks and brickwork, and read drawings. Standards had to be at the highest possible levels. Had to communicate with supervisors to tell them of materials needed and had to meet tight deadlines.
Really enjoyed working as part of this team but also enjoyed working alone. Had great job satisfaction and best contract working on the Emirates Stadium as support Arsenal Football Club.

This was a very exciting job whilst working with Irvine Whitlock. Was involved in working on a multi-million-pound project in East London's Canary Wharf.
