Working and managing a beauty room and nail bar in a small community salon. Creating offers and promotions both paper based and via social media. Collecting feedback from customers. Introducing new beauty treatments.
Providing nail treatments for customers as well as massages. I also provided a range of eye treatments including tinting and false eyelashes. I initially did all salon based but of more recent time i have started doing some mobile work with spray tanning parties and mobile massages for gyms and other spa's.
My ambition now it to work in aesthetics and i would like the opportunity to work in an aesthetics clinic and further my professional development.

I currently teach Hospitality and Catering to young people who have been otherwise removed from a mainstream educational setting due to social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. These young people can be a mixture of LAC and young people living at home who just can not manage in a mainstream school. I also offer functional skills and pastoral care within my job role.
I arrange meetings with the local council partners and also help the young people to either find a permanent school placement that they are happy with and help integrate them back into a normal school routine or if they are getting ready to leave school help them to achieve a qualification and secure post 16 placements to help them progress in the future rather than the fear of becoming NEET. I also have to liaise with the governing body for the vocational course to ensure that the young people can be entered and they can leave the centre with some form of qualification even if it is a unit accreditation to say they have completed something in there time within the centre.

Working 1:1 with children with special education needs including Autism, Dyslexia, OCD, Dyspraxia and general cognitive inabilities. Supervising a small group of children with a range of special eduaton needs through there day. Training new members of staff.

Medical Secretary - Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary - Wolverhampton

The main purpose of my job is to audio type for an A&E clinic that requires clinic letters to be typed within a 24 hour turn around. As well as typing I have to deal with phone call's from patients querying hospital appointments and medication. I also have to arrange and attend meeting with the A&E team and also the medical secretaries team.
In both team meetings I take minutes and have to type and distribute these following the meeting. On a personal level I have to ensure I stay up to date with my on personal development and continue to keep up to date with policies and procedures within my work place. I have to attend an annual appraisal with my manager to ensure that I am achieving my goals and challenging myself continuously within my job role.
Team Secretary - Walsall Manor Hospital - Walsall

As a support secretary on a day to day basis I had to offer as much administration support to the two senior secretaries within the office. I originally started out as the part time support secretary but within the first 4 weeks was asked to work full time and jumped at the opportunity.I would book in/out all the patient notes from the secretaries office. I would sort all incoming and outgoing mail.
I would direct all incoming calls as appropriate. when I had the opportunity I would type any clinic letters that were outstanding to help with the workload that the medical secretaries were struggling with.
Reservations Manager - Park Inn Hotel - West Bromwich Central

As reservations manager I was responsible for making hotel room bookings for individuals and group bookings within the hotel I worked for. As well as making room bookings I also had to attend daily meetings with the other hotel departments to forecast the daily figures and also monthly meetings to show revenue made.

I was the face of the health centre so I met people coming in and out of the centre on a day to day basis. As well as meeting and greeting patients and visitor I also had to make appointments and deal with calls coming through a telephone switchboard that had to be directed to nearly 20 different departments. When I was not on the front desk I would be working behind the scenes to ensure that all the stationary and supplies were ordered for all departments within the health centre and that staff rotation for the front desk was covered at all times.
I also had to ensure that all centre departments time sheets were sent off to payroll in time so that everyone was paid on time.

On my apprenticeship I worked my way around the hotel in all the departments starting with front of house, housekeeping, bar, restaurant, kitchen, accounts, marketing, reservation, banqueting and management.I not only worked in Britannia wolverhampton but as part of my apprenticeship I had to work in sister hotels throughout the chain to gain valuable experience of what each hotel was like depending on where they were based. I gained a NVQ levels 2 & 3 and at the end my apprenticeship I secured a post as receptionist at Britannia Wolverhampton working full time with one Duty Management post on a sunday evening.
