As a qualified fire health and safety officer my responsibilities consist of conducting the fire safety risk assessment reports, following site visits to various mid-low rise residential blocks of flats; making sure all egress and exit routes have minimal 30 minutes fire protected doors and building fabric material.

As a qualified fire health and safety officer my responsibilities consisted of conducting the fire safety risk assessment report for the entire portfolio of newbuilds, refurbished apartment blocks and residential dwellings with Multiple Occupants (HMO'S). I assisted with mapping out fire escape routes, assessing suitability of fire doors & alarms, providing designated assembly points and the strategic placement of fire equipment within the properties to ensure strict adherence to fire safety laws and best practice. In this role I had the opportunity to collaborate closely with teams across the business and gain a holistic understanding of the importance of pre-defined levels of risk and mitigation within the fire safety industry.
Fire Safety Officer (Voluntary) - Hafod Housing Association

I spent time with Haford Housing which is a community housing association as a volunteer to help support the fire safety officer in conducting building maintenance work, fire alarm repairs, fire safety risk assessments and supporting the sprinkler system installation project with ad hoc tasks in place of the fire safety officer. This was an extremely valuable time for me as I was able to visualize aspects of the theory I had learnt during my studies. This role ceased due to the outbreak of COVID 19.
