Developed many skills through a varied career in the corporate world initially and then in the lifelong learning sector which I worked around my children growing up. Starting at 23 in the pharmaceutical industry as a medical sales rep working with general practice in MH. The longest role was working with key stakeholders and hospital medics and nursing staff in MH and I became the youngest senior rep in the company along with winning many years national recognition and the biggest accolade of top representative of the UK in MH.
I was involved key speaker development, represented the company in meetings abroad. Coached and mentored the new members of the team, organised conferences for key stakeholders to attend and was responsible for launching a new product in MH and ensuring itwas on the formulary and well placed for its licence. My last role was as a healthcare development manager working with e key stakeholders at health authority / PCT level to ensure the wider impact of our medications was considered understood and supported by decision makers
Worked as a Biology Chemistry and Maths tutor/teacher / Lecture part time around the children over the last 20 years. This has been face to face and online, 121 or in groups. I’ve worked in a college as a lecturer in post 16 in laboratory / classroom and pre-covid at Derby University on Human Biology Access Course.
All different ages, but adults wanting careers as a midwife or nurse. Also many other roles as a Health and Social Care Distance Learning Assessor for the Skills Network for many years and here i also was a Course Author creating content for the distance learning programs. I’ve been an examiner for OCR and EDEXCEL in biology.
Over the last 20 years also tutored many students at home either 121 or in small groups achieving their goals. Change in confidence that all learners have is what drives the work, whether this be from early years to adults, from the basic skills through sats and gcses/alevel or in higher education.
Tutor at Home based Tutor (2003-06 – Present)
Tutoring and lecturing in Biology Chemistry and Maths part time over a period of 20 years consistently. This has been both classroom based where I was a Lecturer at college teaching post 16 in the labs and classroom and more recently at Derby University pre-covid Lecturing on Human Biology Access Course.
I’ve taught from 5 year olds maths to tutoring many learners 121 or small groups in preparation for their GCSEs, maths, chemistry and biology. I’ve also tutored many post 16 students to help support them with as/a level biology.
