After gaining experience in teaching both Primary schools and (SEN) Secondary schools in London, working with children of all ages and backgrounds, I decided to broaden my experience by moving abroad. Since moving to work in South Korea, I have worked with a wide range of children who have English as a second language, I have helped them overcome their worries and concerns with their accents, spelling as well as speech. I believe this is vital in being an EAL Teacher.
My Education and Social Science course focus on primary education and the latest affairs such as policy changes and the government's input in education. As well as pedagogy about the classroom and how to implement different learning styles in the classroom whilst learning the theories behind it. Furthermore, I have improved my knowledge of education through modules such as the history of education where I learn about how education fundamentally came to be and how it has changed throughout the years.
Being on a higher education degree programme demands skills such as presentation skills, organization of time, note taking, good timekeeping and knowing when to ask for help. I have enhanced my presentation skills by planning lessons and presenting to my peers in lectures and completing assignments on time well before deadlines has improved my time-keeping skills.
