Sam Baldwin

Currently working on my Full Stack Development skills in JavaScript via The Odin Project - My GitHub currently is “SBaldwin-Git”.

Graduate with a 2:1 honours degree in Computing from Bournemouth University. There I gained experience in software and website development, database development and information systems, with much of this experience having been done as part of a team. I primarily programmed using Java in these projects and also learned in my course how to develop Android applications and further supplemented this with my own independent learning.

My final year project was a Messaging and Task Creation Android Application where users could create tasks and chat rooms to discuss projects. It was developed using Java and Firebase Firestore library which used a NoSQL database and helped challenge my ability to do research and develop an application independently and resolve my own technical issues. As part of this project, I also gained experience in gathering user feedback and requirements.

During my time at university, I also worked in retail at Tesco which taught me how to work as part of a team, but also how to manage my time and also socialise while working and studying in full-time education.

I am looking to secure a graduate role to develop my skills in a commercial environment.

Available immediately to establish my career after taking time to focus on my health after graduating.

• My favourite modules included: Software Quality and Testing and Human Factors. Contributed to group projects from different units in a variety of roles.
• Developed a retail website using HTML/CSS/JavaScript and Web2Py as part of a team with the use of GitHub.
• Worked mostly in Java, learning the fundamentals of agile software development.
• Also used HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP.
• Gained experience in SQL and database management.
• Often worked in groups with a variety of other students on different projects and tasks.

Level 3 BTEC in Information Technology, Aylesbury College

• Gained basic experience in C# programming.
• Created a side-scrolling video game using Unity with C#.
