Sam Barlow

Hi, my name is Sam and I am a Masters student in Film and TV production due to graduate in January (predicted with 1st Class Hons). I have completed a Bachelors in screen performance in which I developed skills on various aspects of pre and post production. I am currently looking for production jobs to further extend my skills in film and media.

I have had a diverse range of roles in the film and media industry, primarily within a university setting. My experiences include positions such as First AD/Producer/Casting Director, where I was involved in developing production plans, handling logistics and budgets, and casting for a project at the University of Sunderland. I also worked as a First AD/Assistant for another project, where I managed time schedules, logistics, and assisted with various production elements. Additionally, I served as a Director/Editor for a music video, overseeing the production process and ensuring a smooth dynamic between the actors and crew. In my role as a Sound Editor, I was responsible for editing audio files, managing archival systems, and handling technical equipment for recording. I also served as a Producer for a video project, where I conducted production research, prioritised set safety, and managed communication between the team and the client. Furthermore, I worked as a Technical Assistant/Actor, contributing to camera setup, lighting configuration, and maintaining continuity during the shooting process.

I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Film and TV Production at the University of Sunderland, with an anticipated completion date in the near future. Throughout my master's program, I have been involved in producing, directing, and developing various projects, gaining hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the field.

Prior to my Master's, I completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sunderland, achieving a GPA of 2:1.
