Assistant Accountant – H & M Ltd (Accounting Firm) Dec 2022 – to date
Worked within an accountancy firm providing services such as year-end accounts, management accounts, audits, personal tax returns and VAT returns. Initially working primarily on VAT but with subsequent experience on accounts and management accounting. Accounts preparation included, bank reconciliations, coding transactions, depreciation, asset registers, HP agreements, loans, trade payables, trade receivables, forecasting formulas and data sets (management accounts), comparative data, VAT schemes (flat rate & cash accounting) and VAT rates (zero, no VAT, Exempt, 20% & 5%), CIS(Construction industry scheme), subsidies & grants, and organising clients’ working papers. Other duties included database & filing management, general knowledge about Sole Traders and Partnerships. Frequent contact with clients maintained via email, phone call and face to face meetings/ drop ins. Fluent in Excel, Word, Nuance PDF, Hubdoc, Autoentry, Xero and experienced in Sage accounts.
