I am motivated to succeed and I have previously continued to be committed to achieve my education. Even though I finished at York college I continued with adult further education and completed studying for a GCSE in Mathematics achieving a Level 4 GCSE, adding to my Level 4 GCSE in English. My jobs at Hazel Bank Shooting Ground and Lightwater Valley gave me a lot of experience of working closely in a small team, carrying out physical construction tasks and working safely in a potentially hazardous environment.
Safety is of paramount importance in both businesses and we operated safe working procedures to ensure all visiting guests had a safe and enjoyable experience. Also, working at Low Lane Christmas Trees and the Spar Supermarket has given me a lot of experience of dealing with customers and providing them with a good service whilst working effectively with people in a team. The thing that I now enjoy the most and have become experienced in is working outdoors, undertaking construction, forestry and gardening activities.
I would now like to develop my interests into a full-time career in forestry activities.
Aldborough Gardening Services - I work as a gardener we have set houses that we go to every week where my tasks could include -
●Planting

●Pruning

Low Lane Christmas Trees Ltd – Serving members of the public with Christmas trees at the retail site leading up to Christmas. Assisting with the Felling and collection of Christmas trees.
Lightwater Valley – Apprentice Fitter. I was employed as an apprentice fitter and attended
Darlington college one day per week. As part of my duties, I assisted in constructing new rides,
carried out maintenance of rides, acted as a ride safety operator and carried out gardening and other general duties. Although the job was meant to be a mechanical fitter, I found that most of the duties entailed general construction and gardening. Although I was happy to carry out these duties the job turned out not to be a mechanical fitter but a general duty assistant.
As a result of me working at Low Lane Christmas Trees and my work gardening at Lightwater Valley, I have become more interested in seeking a career in forestry/arboriculture.
Spar Supermarket – I worked as part of the retail team in the shop carrying out varied activities including serving customers on the till, stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, managing the price reduction process and closing the shop on a late shift. This work has greatly improved my interpersonal skills as the majority of the work was customer facing.
Hazel Bank Shooting Ground – Main duties involved working in a small team to carry out the day to-day operation and maintenance of the shooting ground, including,
● Collection of used clays and filling clay traps
● Preparing and cleaning shotguns
