I am an enthusiastic and highly motivated professional with strong interpersonal skills and a specialist interest in Paediatrics and Adult Learning Disability services. My lived experience of disability and socioeconomic disadvantage has shaped not only my values but also my practice. Navigating barriers first-hand has given me a deep, authentic understanding of the challenges many individuals and families face, allowing me to approach my work with heightened empathy, respect, and insight.
I am an effective communicator, able to engage confidently and compassionately with people at all levels and from all backgrounds. As an experienced manager, I excel at motivating teams to deliver work of the highest standard while fostering an inclusive, supportive environment. I adapt quickly to changing circumstances and bring determination, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose to every task I undertake.
Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist - Shropshire Community Health Trust
(2021-01)
I have been able to utilise my lived experience and extensive professional background in complex disabilities and multi level stakeholder negotiations, to facilitate a more robust service provision within specialist education settings. Previously a reactive service, this is now a proactive and person centred service whereby CYP are able to access a range of equipment previously unavailable to them. I have also worked with external stakeholders to access funding sources, helped families access funded vehicle leases outside of DWP, implemented clearer reporting processes to enhance communication between services and families, and regularly participate in joint working clinics to reduce waiting times and the need for additional appointments.
I am a clinical educator, supporting students from Keele, Worcester & Birmingham.
Town Councillor - Oswestry Town Council

I was also able to bring my expertise in EDI policies into practice by overhauling the Town Councils entire policy catalogue.
I was able to put forward a motion which was carried forward, for the provision of the Progress Pride Flag to be flown from the building each year alongside securing funding to support the start of Oswestry's first Pride event, which is now entering its 4th year.
