Samantha Lane

Hi, I'm Samantha. I've worked at Hobbycraft for 7 years in administration and customer service. I've learned many things throughout my time at Hobbycraft and have achieved many wonderful things, from helping to launch and develop the Artisan programme to winning awards for outstanding performance.

I've recently been made redundant and therefore currently looking for new positions in Cirencester, or fully remote positions.

Hobbycraft (2018 – 2025)

Artisan Administrator (2021-2025):

Key responsibilities: 

• Liaising between head office colleagues and Artisan* colleagues as the main point of contact for over 130 Artisans from all over the UK.
• Working with and supporting Artisans with creative projects and opportunities – this helped to save the company over £150k during a 3-year period on creative costs.
• Writing seasonal Newsletters and weekly communications to share Artisan updates, celebrate their amazing achievements, and communicate our plans to the whole business.
• Editing, auditing and uploading blog post content via SalesForce to the Hobbycraft website.
• Organising monthly training sessions via Zoom to help grow our colleague skill levels to deliver first class customer service.
• Building from conception and managing the Artisan Pinterest social page.
• Supporting the Artisan recruitment process which allowed the Artisan programme to grow to over 130 colleagues.
• Coordinating shared documents using various Microsoft programmes.
• *An Artisan is a creative colleague who works at one of the Hobbycraft retail stores across the UK

Retail colleague (2018-2021):

• Achievements and knowledge gained:
• Helped to launch and develop the ‘Hobbycraft Artisan programme’ by becoming the first ever Artisan in 2018.
• Won the ABC award for outstanding performance
• Strong customer service skills – achieving over 2,000 club sign ups in just 5 months.
• The ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments
• The ability to remain calm during stressful situations
• Ran various craft workshops for customers and a weekly crochet club for crafters of all levels.
