Throughout working in the social care Industry I’ve gained various skills and experience supporting both individuals and families.

Most recently within my current position as a family practitioner within a safeguarding team I have implemented the local authorities practise model, using this when supporting families.

I have the ability and knowledge to support social workers with assessments, engaging in meetings and planning for supporting families.

As well as specific tasks outlined in assessments and plans, working directly with children gaining there wishes and feelings and offering support that is needed. Below is a summary off some off my experience as a family practitioner and what my position entailed

• Work directly with children and families acting as a consistent point of contact where appropriate.
• Provide family intervention support and assessment for children and families who have statutory social work involvement in conjunction with allocated social worker.
• Managing own case load
• Direct work with children such as gaining their wishes and feeling
• Using the graded care profile tool with families . 
• Ensuring children are young people are safe guarded. 
• Supervising family time
• working together with social workers to support children in need, children on child protection plans and children in care.
• contributing to parenting assessments, supporting mediation, crisis prevention, conflict resolution and Life Story Work
• supporting on the completion of accurate documentation, reports and records relating to the children, young people, and their families I work with

Prior to this I had worked in a residential support setting with children and young people I see myself as enthusiastic when supporting service users and young people, having passion for what can and could be achieved valuing there needs and supporting in a person-centred way.

Within this role I completed my level 3 within health and social care this abled me to progress to senior care practitioner then following onto acting deputy manager.

I’ve also experience supporting within a school setting where is have supported children as a class as well as one to one supporting children who need additional support

I see my myself as a caring, friendly individual who has experience working within the care sector. I have a non-judgemental nature, as well as being open and honest, I can cope with unpredictability, and I am flexible.
