I'm a confident and motivated GP currently working part-time in Astley. I have excellent communication skills in both English and Urdu and one of my key skills is building strong relationships with patients and colleagues. I have an eye for detail and a naturally systematic, analytical and practical approach to problem solving in my work and in my life in general.
Current roles in my salaried post include palliative care lead, mental health lead and acting as antimicrobial steward. I'm also a trainer for foundation doctors and GP trainees.
I'm a mum of 2 and enjoy new challenges.
My clinical work includes consulting with patients, reviewing results, actioning clinical letters, medication reviews, prescriptions, insurance forms and other admin work.
In my role as palliative care lead at our surgery, I chair our palliative care MDT every 2 months, including regularly reviewing complex patients on our Gold Standards Register and sensitively supporting patients and family to make advanced care plans. Our MDT includes community matrons, district nurses and hospice nurses.
In my previous salaried role, I did some work under PCN employment. This involved reviewing nursing home patients to reduce GP appointment and home visit burden in Wigan area and also to complete advanced and personalised care plans for nursing and care home residents in central Wigan. I was also supervising and supporting an ANP in this role.
I regularly supervise and support medical students, practice nurses, training and assistant nurses and GP trainees. I am a designated clinical supervisor for GP trainees.
