Production Technician - Rayner Intraocular Lenses - Worthing, West Sussex

In early December I started a temporary role at Rayner in Worthing. My role was to assist with the production of intraocular lenses accordingly to GMP. Starting from the lenses being formed to them being packed ready to be stored.

• Load machines with material i.e. leaflets, cartons, lidding foil, pouch foil and outers.
• Load tablets into the machine.

This job taught me on how to operate by myself and work in teams. Time keeping was a part of this job so orders wouldn't get backed up. Each hour we had to hit a target of packs.

• Check each item match to the slip.
• Check the condition of the discs, cases and covers.
• Pack in suitable envelope and packaging.
• Send out items soon as possible.
• Make sure that each package goes in the right trunk for them to go to their destination.
• As the last person seeing the product being sent out we had to make sure each and every item fit the standards.

Supper Cook - Nightingale Nursing Home - Littlehampton

It's my job to follow the menu each day to create and serve a meal for each resident. I would always do extra shifts and help people out. When doing this job for nearly 2 years now you get into a routine and get used to what you're doing. Me keeping on time and getting everything ready help the nurses and careers keep on track with time.

• Preparing food trays to be served on (sandwiches, soup, dessert, hot/cold food, liquidized food)
• Cleaning up all used cutlery and items i used (plates, cutlery, jugs, etc)
• Towards the end of the shift I would cleaning the kitchen, take the laundry, empty bins, clean and empty dishwasher.

Work Experience - Clear Computing - Rustington, West Sussex

(2011-05 - 2012-05)

This was my first scene in a real work environment. It made me see what it's really like to see how a real business works. The impact it gave me is that everyone has roles and duties to complete roles to keep everything running smoothly.

• Tiding Up - I would clean and tidy up the work space to make it look more smart and clean look.
• Installing New Software - I was giving the job to install software on old pc's and new software on new products.
• Check Stock Work - Every week when stock came in I was giving the chance to unwrap it all, check that it was working and file to paper work to let the customers and team know.
