Hello!

I was trying to think of three inspiring quotes that would reflect how I feel about education.

• ‘It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop’.

Confucius.

I strongly believe that children should be encouraged to learn at their own pace. Speed is not as important as persistence and perseverance.

The second quote that I find particularly inspiring is the one by Laozi:

• ‘I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, and compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.'

Anyone who has been involved in childcare and/or education knows that those three personality traits are essential to help children develop into happy and balanced individuals.

The third quote is by Maria Montessori:

• ‘We must begin with something precise, something that can be observed. Most pedagogical theories are based on vague philosophical plans. I would suggest that instead, we start with something concrete, which can really be studied and observed. Adaptation to the environment is basic to all living things.’
