About

I am a professional and dedicated Estates Officer working for RFCA for Wales based in Maindy Barracks, Cardiff. I have significant experience in many areas having worked as an Architectural Technician, Building Surveyor, Housing Surveyor and Project Manager. Each role has given me experience of working with both domestic and non-domestic clients both individually and as part of a wider team.

In my current role I am responsible for undertake building maintenance inspections, compiling subsequent reports and actioning works according to priority and budgetary constraints. I have also been involved in project managing minor refurbishment projects, injured service personnel home adaptations and more recently I was involved in the project management of a capital works scheme. I am proficient in producing project documentation, schedules of work, survey reports, tender analysis reports and scaled drawings as well as the monitoring of a projects progress on site.

My main responsibilities were to advise landlords on their legal responsibilities to their tenants in regards to fire precautions, property management and property fitness and repair. As part of this role I undertook housing inspections, producing schedules of repair, schedules of fire precautions and serving Statutory notices on Landlords as necessary under the various Housing Acts. Whilst employed at Cardiff Council I also ran a scheme called Accreditation Plus which was set up to encourage Landlords to bring their properties up to a higher standard than the minimum legal requirement.
