Liaise with homeless clients all over Gloucestershire, assessing their needs and referring them to the correct agencies. I work as part of a small team which is dedicated to helping vulnerable people to accommodation through the statutory homeless provision run by the Councils in Gloucestershire or voluntary agencies. Monitor and follow up on clients and work closely with the Local Authorities to provide support for a specific number of clients who are attending the service, provide one to one support and liaison with other services on behalf of my clients.

This very popular activity is used is used by most of the female clients and involves training with guest speakers, on well being issues such as yoga, health & beauty and domestic abuse.

Support Worker working with adult males in a hostel. Many of the residents are ex-offenders with a history of alcohol/drug dependence. In this capacity I work shifts as and when required at a Homeless Hostel for people aged 18-55 who have been in are vulnerable for drugs and alcohol dependancy as well as a range of other mental health or social reasons.
I provide support and help with benefit/work applications, advice on moving on to more permanent accommodation and training if necessary I also provide an important 'listening ear' and give realistic and helpful advice to customers.

Liaise with outside bodies to prevent homelessness. Previous to this I worked in housing at Gloucester City Council starting in September 1999 till 2013, firstly as a Waiting List/Choice Based Lettings Allocations Officer and later as a Housing Options/Homelessness Officer.
In this role I covered all aspects of housing including private tenancies, owner occupiers, landlords and mortgage providers as well as dealing with a variety of diverse combination of agencies such as domestic abuse teams and Shelter. I also developed good working relationships with the police and social Services.
