I have worked for the NHS for 10 years now. Starting as a healthcare assistant and progressing to an assistant practitioner within the community neuro team within North Manchester. I assist the practitioners in rehabilitation for patients with neurological conditions.
This could be through programmes made by the physiotherapists, occupational therapists or speech therapists. I also complete physiological observations to make sure my patients are well. I refer onto other relevant services the patient would benefit.
I also refer onto many different groups within the voluntary sector to reduce social exclusion for my patients.
As well as being an assistant practitioner I'm also an armed forces reservist. I am a class 1 combat medic. I have gained many skills being a reservist such as leadership and professionalism which I transfer into my role every day.
I am always keen to learn new skills to enhance my working performance.
