A current postgraduate student at City, University of London studying an MA in
Publishing and seeking experience in an editorial role. I offer excellent written and editing skills, I speak both English and Russian, and I have copywriting, copyediting,
proofreading and sub-editing experience. I am eager to gain experience in a publishing environment so as to align with my goals of building a career within the next generation of publishers. I am also currently writing my dissertation on the dominance of Amazon and how it has shifted the UK trade publishing industry,
exemplifying my skills in analysing empirical data, interviewing, and organisation.
Before starting my MA in Publishing, I worked as a proofreader, translator and content creator at Lingvo-Expert in St Petersburg, Russia. I also worked as a copywriter for Andersen, a global software development company helping enterprises worldwide to transform business by creating effective digital solutions using innovative technologies. Finally, I worked as a content creator for Rock My Wedding, writing and editing high-performing SEO-enhanced articles, engaging long- and short-form copy for the Rock My Wedding website, optimised venue listings, and filmed and edited video content for the website, social media and YouTube channel.
I attained my bachelors degree in English Language and Russian at The University of Manchester between 2017-2021, and I wrote my first class dissertation on how bilingualism affects the sense of identity within the Russian émigré community in England. I was a sub-editor for the Mancunion, was awarded "Outstanding Contribution to REES" in 2021, was a PASS Leader 2019-2021, and a Global Friends Ambassador 2020-2021. I am about to complete my MA in Publishing at City, University of London.
I have so far attained first class marks in every one of my assignments and am currently undertaking research for my dissertation on the dominance of Amazon in the UK trade publishing industry and what publishers/policymakers can implement in response.
