My name is Sean MacPhee, and I am an artist and designer passionate about communicating ideas and narratives through my illustrations. Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor's Honours in Visual Communication at UHI Inverness, where I am continually developing my skills. As a Highland native, I have a deep fascination with Scottish folklore and mythical creatures. What started as childhood drawings has evolved into a true obsession.
In recent years, I have embraced creating work in digital formats, such as vector illustration and digital drawing. My design style is influenced by the Swiss Design and Bauhaus movements, emphasizing simplicity and functionality. I believe that visuals can be just as powerful as words in conveying ideas and emotions through storytelling.
During my studies, I developed several design ideas for The Highland Council that were not used.
To educate the public about a new waste management system, I also worked with the Highland division of I AM Road Smart to design concepts for new drivers, although these were not implemented. In addition to this experience, I helped organise two separate exhibitions. One took place at the UHI Inverness campus, and the other was held at the Wasps Creative Academy.
