Sean Ruddy boasts over two decades of extensive experience in portfolio, programme, and project delivery within significant infrastructure projects and high-profile initiatives. Currently serving as the Programme Office Manager at the Greater London Authority, he leads a central PMO for a £500m+ Skills & Employment portfolio. His strategic leadership has been pivotal in establishing high standards for governance and risk management while innovating a unified project delivery approach.
Prior to this role, Sean was the Tier 1 Portfolio Lead at the Department for Transport, where he spearheaded enhancements to the department’s £120bn capital infrastructure portfolio, significantly improving risk management frameworks and stakeholder confidence. His previous roles include managing major projects for the West Coast Partnership and directing the Transport Infrastructure Efficiency Strategy, where he adeptly navigated complex political landscapes to deliver impactful results. Sean’s career showcases his ability to influence, engage senior stakeholders, and foster collaboration across multiple organizational levels.
Sean holds a BSc (Econ) in Economics and Politics from Queen Mary, University of London, awarded with 2.1 Class Honours. He has continually advanced his professional qualifications, obtaining practitioner certifications in 'Management of Portfolio' (MoP), 'Managing Successful Programmes' (MSP), and 'PRINCE2' project management methodologies. Additionally, he is certified in 'Management of Risk' (M_o_R) and has completed the Civil Service Project Leadership Programme, further solidifying his expertise in project leadership and delivery.
