I am a highly motivated and sociable first year student at Loughborough University, undertaking a joint honours course in both English and Sport Science as well as being a student athlete in competitive athletics and cheerleading. I am extremely hard working, resilient, punctual and an overall positive attribute to the university, constantly striving to fulfil my potential and make the most of my time here.
Waitress - Hollies tea and cake room
I enjoyed positive and challenging experiences at Hollies where I was serving food as well as taking payment through the tills. A busy local café, with some demanding customers! I was always calm and understanding, working collectively with my colleagues to deal with any issues that arose.
I had a lot of positive feedback and compliments from both members of staff and customers, from the moment I took on the waitressing position, who were impressed with my enthusiasm and friendliness which I brought to the café. Some of those demanding customers used to ask for me!
Hosting - Brownie Boss
Alongside working in the café, I took on a leadership role of working to plan and host celebrations such as birthdays and baby showers which I enjoyed because I could be a bit more creative, working closely with the customer to plan what they wanted. I was able to work effectively under lots of time pressure and always remained patient when things got stressful.
Athletics coach - Edmondscote track
I've been trained as an athletics coach, working and coaching children whist also improving my own confidence. This has allowed me to work together in a team of other sports coaches/leaders to create a both enjoyable and educational environment within the athletics community, helping the students to improve their fitness and technique.
Waitress - Farmers Fayre - Stoneleigh Park
I was working within the agricultural business in Stoneleigh Park, waitressing and serving food. I moved into a bigger, fast paced working environment within the food industry which taught me a lot about working under pressure as well as communicating with an enormous number of customers. This helped my confidence and my ability to work at speed, with accuracy and with lots of different people, children and animals who visited the restaurant.
Event Staff - AEG Events - Warwick
I was part of a small team who worked during the concerts in Warwick, upselling tickets to members of the public. I enjoyed talking to a variety of people, selling them the add-ons and then process the sale through the tills. This was a fun job but hard work and I covered a few miles walking about the field!
