Shang Salah

I am a multilingual and multidisciplinary researcher and junior creative producer. I have been working in documentary television for two years as a junior researcher, logger, and PA. I am currently seeking my next production role as a researcher.

Independently, I am a freelance creative director and producer working across editorials, music videos and events with my creative collective ROOD and others. ROOD aims to turn the ideas of rising talents into completed bodies of work with a reformed democratic approach towards production. I also hold experience as a freelance writer, research assistant, marketer, and translator.

I eagerly want to transfer my documentary and creative production skills to digital and entertainment content. I hold skills in jobs ranging from development to post-production. I can edit and self-shoot.

I am particularly interested in internet and youth culture, current affairs, and a stylized humorous approach to production.

For the past two years, I have been working in documentary and factual show production as a junior researcher, logger, PA. In 2024 I worked for a Netflix sports original docuseries production. In 2023 I was a PA at Vice Media working on YouTube shows. Prior to this, I was a research assistant for a book manuscript.

Independently, I co-run a creative collective where I direct and produce a range of projects for brands, designers, musicians, and artists. This has included short docs, music videos, editorials, and events.

I also hold freelance experience leading two film festivals marketing campaigns and writing for arts and culture magazines.

I have a first-class BA (Hons) in Television and Media production. I graduated in 2023 from the University for the Creative Arts.
