Community Exhibition Guide at REIN (Rights & Equalities In Newham) (2023-07 – 2023-09)
As a guide for the Newham Unlocked exhibition focused on Caribbean culture and arts, I worked closely with local artists to curate displays and welcomed visitors to the space. My role included guiding the public through the exhibition, answering questions, and engaging them in conversations about the work on display. I also contributed to the creation and management of social media content, helping promote the exhibition online.
Collaborating with a team of adults and creatives enhanced my communication and teamwork skills, while the experience deepened my organisational abilities and taught me how to adapt quickly in a busy, professional environment.
Activity Leader / Youth Support Worker at All Heads Recognised (2021-01 – Present)
In this ongoing role, I assist in supervising and engaging children aged 4 to 12 during holiday activity programs. I am responsible for creating tailored games and activities, particularly for children with special educational needs, ensuring their full inclusion in all sessions. This position requires patience, creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility.
I've learned how to adapt activities to individual learning and behavioural needs, maintain a safe environment, and communicate effectively with both children and parents. This hands-on experience has strengthened my leadership, planning, and empathy skills, making me confident in fast-paced, people-oriented roles.
