I currently work as a Family Support Worker within Bury Council, where I continue to support children, young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes. I have worked within Rochdale Children's Social Care for the past 13 years and bring extensive experience from both family support and residential childcare services. In my current role, I work directly with children, young people and their families, providing practical and emotional support through home visits, telephone contact and multi-agency working.

I adopt a child and family-centred approach, ensuring that families feel listened to, and respected and supported in a non-judgemental and professional manner. I work collaboratively with families to identify their strengths, address concerns and develop strategies that promote positive change, improve family relationships and reduce risks. I support parents with a range of issues including behaviour management, establishing routines and boundaries, safeguarding, emotional wellbeing and parenting challenges.

I contribute to assessments, care planning and reviews, completing accurate records and reports while working closely with partner agencies to ensure information is shared appropriately and the needs of children remain at the centre of all interventions. I have extensive experience working with children, young people and families affected by mental health difficulties, domestic abuse, substance misuse, homelessness, poverty and trauma. I maintain professional boundaries at all times, treating every family with dignity, respect and confidentiality whilst following safeguarding procedures, policies and legislation.
