I am a Dental Hygiene Therapist with many years experience of dealing with a mixed demographic of patients from multicultural backgrounds. I am caring and compassionate when treating patients. I have a non-judgemental approach and offer advice accordingly as I appreciate patients may have lifestyles and commitments that can affect their oral health.
I treat patients with dignity and empathy who are nervous and medically compromised and I am always willing to adapt my working method to suit the patient's needs. Seeing new and old patients take onboard my advice I find very rewarding. I also see a number of nervous and dental phobic patients that have become regular attenders.
I use my skills to help patients understand the importance of good oral health, giving advice to suit their needs and affordability. I work as a Dental Hygienist but I have done Therapy mainly on children and young Adults. I did a two day Therapy refresher course in June 2017 as I am keen to take on more Therapy work.
I am always willing to develop my existing skills and gain new ones.

I provide Dental Hygiene support on a private basis to three dentists. I treat patients for routine hygiene appointments and patients who have early to advanced periodontal conditions which includes Root Surface Debridement and Periochip placement. I carry out oral hygiene instruction which involves plaque disclosing and plaque scores, demonstrating tooth brushing and interdental cleaning methods, implant care and education in the progression of periodontal disease and dental caries.
I see patients pre and post orthodontic treatment for OHI. I also discuss diet and safe alcohol limits and do smoking cessation when required. The therapy treatment I do is mainly on children and young adults which consists of GIC restorations in deciduous teeth, Preventative Resin Restorations and amalgam fillings.
I also do fluoride application and fissure sealants.

My duties are to provide dental hygiene support to three dentists on a private basis. This includes routine maintenance visits and treatment of early to advanced periodontal conditions. When needed I treat patients with Periowave a photo-disinfection procedure.
I carry out oral hygiene instruction which includes plaque disclosing and plaque scores, demonstrating tooth brushing and ID cleaning methods, implant care and education in the progression of periodontal disease and dental caries. I also do fluoride application and fissure sealants. When required I give smoking, alcohol and dietary advice.
On occasions I do therapy treatment which mainly consists of class v restorations and composite build ups for attrition, GIC restorations in deciduous teeth, and PRRs.
Staff Hygienist - CCDH - Sheffield, S10 2SZ

My position was as a Staff Hygienist. My duties were to treat patients for advanced periodontal disease who had been referred to the Dental Hospital from GDPs. This would involve full mouth root surface debridement performed over two visits under Local Anaesthetic.
I also carried out OHI which included plaque disclosing and plaque scores, demonstrating tooth brushing and ID cleaning methods and education in the progression of periodontal disease. I would also treat patients who had disabilities and who were medically compromised. My reason for leaving was to progress further with dental therapy at the practice I was working at as I was newly qualified and did not want to lose my skills.

My position was as a qualified Dental Nurse providing support for dental students, consultants and staff members. I worked on the Prosthetic Department, Restorative and Paediatric Department providing all aspects of dental nurse support. My reason for leaving was to study Dental Hygiene Therapy.
