TIG Welder - TechnipFMC
(2025-01)
I am a TIG welder at TechnipFMC where I weld high-integrity components for the offshore energy industry. The welds I produce often must meet very strict quality standards and are inspected using X-ray (radiographic) testing to check for any internal defects. These components are used in subsea equipment that operates under extreme pressure and harsh environments, so the weld quality has to be exceptionally high.
Welder - North East Pipeline Solutions
(2024-01 - 2025-01)
I regularly perform multi-run welds on thick materials, building up welds in multiple passes to achieve full penetration, strength, and compliance with structural requirements. This includes fillet and butt welds on beams, columns, plates, and reinforced joints. I understand how to control heat input, clean between passes, and maintain consistent bead profile to prevent defects and distortion.
In addition to welding, I carry out cutting, grinding, and finishing, inspect welds for quality and structural soundness, and make adjustments as needed to meet drawings and specifications.
Welder - W.D Close Engineering
(2023-01 - 2024-01)
My role focused on MIG welding heavy-gauge steel components, ensuring strong, high-quality welds suitable for agricultural and construction use. I regularly used overhead cranes to lift, position, and rotate large bucket assemblies safely and accurately prior to and during welding. This required good coordination, awareness of safety procedures, and precision to maintain correct alignment.
The work was carried out in a fast-paced fabrication environment, following engineering drawings and quality standards.
