I am on the Autistic Spectrum and have OCD and Dyspraxia. This does not mean that I cannot work full time. I am hard working and eager to learn. I do not have a learning disability. I would be a very loyal employee and am a good time keeper. I simply need understanding of my condition.

Café Staff at Highland wildlife park (2022-02 – 2023-03)

I work in the café serving customers food and drink. I mostly do the background area such as the kitchen preparing sandwiches, cleaning the dishes, tidying up, sweeping the floor.

Kitchen Porter at Cairngorm hotel Aviemore (2021-07 – 2022-01)

In this job I was a kitchen porter where I washed dishes, made sure that the whole kitchen was clean and tidy. I also helped to prepare vegetables such as potatoes.

Early Years Practitioner at Rosebuds Daycare (2021-01 – 2021-05)

I was employed in the role of early years practitioner. I worked closely with children - playing games with them and reading stories doing arts and crafts activities. I also helped lay out the tables for lunch, washed up the children's dishes after their lunch and helped them wash their hands for lunch. I also had to interact daily with other staff members as each day was a new day with new challenges to face.

Shop Assistant at Home Bargains (2020-09 – 2021-03)

I returned to work in the same position that I had held prior to attending college for a 6 month period again working mainly putting out stock. I had to interact with colleagues and the general public as well as meet daily deadlines.

Shop Assistant at Home Bargains (2019-04 – 2020-01)

In this role I did general shop assistant work which included working on the tills handling money, putting out stock and dealing with enquiries from the general public. I left this position to concentrate fully on my studies at college which was worthwhile as I passed the course.

Volunteer at Project Scotland (2017-09 – 2019)

I was part of a new initiative to help young people to gain work experience on a voluntary basis – gaining experience, confidence and more skills needed to help them find work. I volunteered with Aviemore Community Transport on a regular basis. I helped elderly and disabled people access transport to take them to appointments, shopping etc making sure that they are secure and safe. I helped them physically and interacted with them socially.

Lifeguard and Apprenticeship at Macdonald Resort Aviemore (2015-07 – 2016-04)

I spent several months working in various departments throughout the resort to gain some hotel experience. I then studied for and passed the NPLQ National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and spent the remainder of my time at the resort doing relief life guard duties working as and when I was required.

Golf Course Assistant at Kingussie Golf Club (2015-04 – 2015-07)

I worked part-time at Kingussie Golf club assisting the Green Keepers maintain the course. My duties were varied and included grass cutting, sweeping leaves, clearing bunkers and painting fences. This job required me at times to work on my own and manage my own time and ensure that the job was done effectively. Then at other times we worked as a team if the job required more than one person.

Weekend Lodge Cleaner at Hilton Coylumbridge (2014-09 – 2015-01)

I worked as a weekend lodge cleaner at Coylumbridge Hotel. This stopped because of the slow trade. After a short period of training I was responsible for the total cleaning of two lodges per day. This included stripping and remaking all of the beds, cleaning the bathrooms and the kitchens as well as the general living areas. I also sometimes worked with the maintenance team clearing the snow and washing the balconies.

Apprentice / Work Experience at Highland Small Communities Trust (2013-09 – 2014-06)

As part of this course I had to attend Inverness 3 days a week.

Every

Thursday and Friday I did work experience on a construction site which was organised by the above trust. I worked with Laing builders from Grantown on Spey where I gained invaluable experience in a variety of different tasks – eg ditching, insulation, basic joinery and general labouring. I then did 2 days a week at the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore helping with a variety of tasks including moving and helping to build a new 'exhibit', shelf building, site clearing and general maintenance tasks.

Shop Assistant at Newtonmore Co-op (2013-06 – 2013-09)

I worked on a summer contract for the Coop mainly on the till serving customers but also had to stack shelves and work in the stock room.

Nursery Assistant (Voluntary) at Aviemore Nursery and Primary School (2012-09 – 2013-05)

I worked at the Nursery on a voluntary basis. My duties were helping to arrange activities for the children, assisting the leaders deliver the activities and supporting them with sports activities. I also assisted on school trips.

Checkout / Trolley Assistant at Tesco Store Aviemore (2010-05 – 2010-09)

My duties included serving customers behind the till and tidying the trolleys from the car park to the trolley area.
