These significant qualities enabled me to support residents. My recent job as a HCA in Stockport taught me a huge amount of patience and empathetic skills.
Carer - Healthcare Provider
Previously spent 10 months working as a carer. Being a carer taught me the importance of caring for others and how vulnerable a patient can be. It also taught me that helping their needs could positively impact their day.
During COVID there was a high rate of deaths and many had sadly passed away, thus there were situations where my clients had lost family members; I ensured I was supportive and ensured that they were processing their emotions. Working in care has given me the chance to work with many people such as elderlies, individuals with disabilities, frailties, mental health problem or residents with an addiction where they cannot cope without support.
