I am an enthusiastic, driven and responsible person with a strong desire to pursue a summer placement from July 25th 2022 onwards.
In my current role I am an Achievement Director (Head of Year) and Teacher of Religious Studies and Maths at Ormiston Rivers Academy.
Having worked in Education for over nine years I have vast experience including being a classroom teacher, cover supervisor and have had various support roles. I have worked 1-1 with students, led booster groups, mentored learners, stepped in as Isolation Manager, been specifically attached to a classroom with severe behaviour difficulties and those with SEN, a support worker in a special needs school, taught English as a second language abroad and have worked with school refusers outside of the academy hours.
I also have experience working at a ‘boarding’ facility as I took part in the Camp America programme and worked at a summer camp for a three month period. I worked at a special needs camp and was one of the activity leaders and general camp counsellors.
Furthermore, my experience in teaching does not stop in the UK, I spent six months as an English Language Teacher in Nanjing, China. I thoroughly enjoyed living and working in a completely new environment.
I have completed many courses (please see more detail below) and I am currently undertaking my Level 5 Certificate in Education (Teacher Training) which I am due to complete in May 2023 and will then gain my QTLS.
Throughout my many different roles working with young people, I have built relationships and take pride in my ‘firm but fair’ rapport I have whilst still being able to present a fun environment.
I have gained valuable life experience and abilities from my time abroad such as being independent, adaptable and personable.
I believe I am a well driven individual who always puts 100% effort into my work. This being said, I believe my overall experience would stand me in good stead for a position at your facility for the summer.
