Experience

Medical Laboratory Assistant - Nuffield health clinic - 1 Ropemaker St, London EC2Y 9AW

(2022 - 2026)

During my MLA experience I tested blood samples, full blood count, cholesterol, glucose, proteins in blood, to check kidney and liver and heart functions. I worked with Fuji and Pochi analyser, i do Qualify Control once QC passes i wait for the sample. I input patient’s details on Ultra for FBC and Chemistry, once the labels print out i scan the sample on the analyser for processing.

Once done DRs receive results on the system to go through it with clients, i had turn around of 1hr for results. I believe i can apply the same effort and hard work to the company’s workload. I keep tracks of all the clients results sent for further tests or processing and emailed Drs to review within report Due date.

I worked for Nuffield for over 3 years, my experience there offered me an opportunity to train new MLAs from different sites as well as physiologists in case of any AL. I was able to train new staffs on how to run the patient details system as well as QCs and blood processing. I’m familiar with centrifuging gold tubes for plasma extraction and store them in the fridge for stability in case of any repeat or additional tests.

I have experience in Temperature checks i also do monthly EQCs (

  • Fuji: For Dry chemistry bloods i worked with: GLU, TRIGs, HDL, TCHO, CRE, AU, BUN, ALT, ALB, TBIL, GGT, TP, ALP, CA, AST
  • Pochi: For FBC i analyse samples for WBC, HCT, HCMC, HCMV, PLTs counts.
  • I do Internal Quality Control (IQC) on both analysers frequently, for Pochi i do IQC every morning and Fuji i do twice a week.
  • I also have experience in processing smear samples, STI swabs and urine as well as Urinalysis tests.
