A strong global business leader with experience in; sales, marketing and general management and more recently founding start-ups. A team player who is a highly motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic individual, whose greatest asset is his ability to communicate, influence and lead others.
I am an experienced medical device and healthcare services executive. My career could roughly be divided into two halves, the first was spent in corporate life the second half in the world of start-ups.
After university my corporate career started at Johnson & Johnson. I followed the traditional path of starting in sales and after various promotions I ended up in European marketing. My next major employer was Stryker starting as a Business Unit Director and ending as European Vice President of Spine and Orthobiologics running a $100m P&L.
During my time in the corporate world, I completed my MBA and an executive leadership program at Harvard.
After I left the corporate world, I helped a friend take his start up from series A funding to acquisition which gave me the experience I needed to start my own. To date I have set up 6 start-ups, all of which are prospering.
Within healthcare I have medical device experience across most sectors helped by my time leading a distribution business. In terms of service provision, I have broad sector and speciality experience from my time as a hospital CEO and from the start-ups I initiated. I have strong corporate organisational and structural skills and extensive start up knowledge especially in fund raising.
The businesses I’ve set up don’t really need my input anymore, in fact I’ve not been active in 3 of them for some time now. I’m at the point in my career where I’m thinking about what next? I’d be interested to see if there are organisations out there that might be interested in my unique blend of corporate know how and entrepreneurial flair. I’d be prepared to consider short term contracts, as well as full or part time roles depending on the fit.
