I am a capable, friendly, caring, reliable, supportive and approachable senior nurse and have an excellent rapport with patients, clients, relatives and staff at all levels. I conduct myself in a professional manner and am an effective team player and role model to staff and students. I have over 30 years experience in healthcare, with 28 years as a registered nurse mostly working in emergency care.
I have extensive emergency and life support skills as well as effective communication skills and care assessment skills. I have completed training as a Nurse Practitioner and have worked autonomously assessing and treating minor injuries. I am an effective manager and am experienced in all aspects of staff and clinical management including investigating incidents, CQC inspections, sickness absence management, disciplinary procedures, interviews and recruitment.
I have almost 20 years experience in safeguarding as a Domestic Violence liaison and am passionate about this. I am hard working with excellent organisational and time management skills and have attended courses in leadership and management. I have great sense of humour and feel it helps in every day healthcare work but am also aware of when it is inappropriate.
I am adaptable and able to solve problems as they arise as well as anticipating issues before they arise. I have experience in all aspects of clinical governance and adhere to and encourage strict infection control practices. I have experience in hospital based care and social care environments.
