Working as a first aider within St John ambulance I have gained invaluable communication skills through treating patients when volunteering on local events, such as The Norfolk show, Community Day and the UEA open day. I have also attended multiple courses to further my knowledge and understanding of first aid, in addition to this, I have taught it to varying ages, which has enabled me to improve my ability to work with different people and provide leadership skills.
Work experience at Doctors surgery
I have completed work experience at a doctors surgery which was an eye opening and invaluable experience. It provided me with a deeper understanding of the healthcare industry and allowed me to enhance my communication ability by engaging in various social interactions and situations that occurred. I was able to gain insight into the intricacies of clinic operations including observing consultations led by medical professionals.
This experience allowed me to understand the broader healthcare environment, from interactions with patients to life within the practice.
